INFORMATION/LEAGUE RULES

1.The Elyria Jr.NBA League will start Saturday may 6 and will be played until June 17.

2.All games will be played at Elyria South Recreational Facility.

3.Games will be played between 12:30p and 2pm each Saturday.

4.Games will not be played on Memorial Day Weekend, but will resume on June 3 (the following Saturday)

5.Games will be player in two 10 minute halves divided equally between player with a mandatory substitution every five minutes.

6.There will be a final 5 min quarter played in which the coach may freely substitute any player.

7.The clock will run and stop only on free throws and the last 1 minute of the 5th quarter.

8.A player will be given 6 fouls each game.

9.All players must play each game and must equally be substituted after each five minutes.

10.No one player can play every quarter unless the team only has five players dressed that day.

11.Players who arrive late may miss their playing rotation, so make sure they arrive on time for games.

12.Good sportsmanship is expected from players, coaches and parents.

13.All referee call are final.

14.There will be a playoff at the end of the season with teams ranked by record.

RULES for SHOOTOUT

 

1.Because all the games will be played in TWO 14 minute periods, halftime 1 min.

 

2.The clock will only stop for the last 1 minute of each half but will continue to run if the lead is 12 pts or more.

 

3.Each player will be allowed 6 fouls before fouling out.

 

4.Bonus 1&1 only after the 10th foul of the game and all non-shooting fouls during the last minute of the game.

 

5.Each team should provide a person to keep score, although we will attempt to provide one for you if needed.

 

6.Referees call is final

 

7.Only the event coordinator can modify or change the rules as needed to ensure the games stay on schedule.

 

8.There will be a 2 min warmup

 

9.Each team gets two (2) timeouts and one (1) extra for overtime

 

10.Overtime periods consists of 1 minute stop clock as many as needed.

 

11.Each team will play at least 2 games. 

 

12.The age groups will be grade and age based. Any kid in the grade can play, or any kid not in that grade can play if they are no older than the age listed.  For the 5/6th Grade Division any kid in either the 5/6th grade can play, or a kid (who has been placed ahead in a high grade, but who is no older than the maximum age for the grade on the date of play can also participate.  The same is true for each grade.

Grassroots Report is the leading evaluator of youth basketball in the Lake Erie District.  Grassroots Report hosts teams and events that are used to evaluate top level teams and top players for the sole purpose of promoting and getting kids into College through Scholarships as well as getting teams and kids the recognition they deserve for hard work, dedication and outstanding performance.

Grassroots Report is Divided in several loose Associations with Teams from

(2) MYBA - Michigan Youth Basketball Association;

(3) PYBA - Penn Youth Basketball Association;

  • Must be able to either pay for, or make payment arrangements prior to all events.
  • Must be able to honor commitments and must be able to attend events on time as missing an event could result in being terminated from the sponsorship agreement.
